Having represented in the past a pivotal center of defense from those enemies coming from the sea, the castle named Rocca Roveresca currently stand as the aftermath of an overlapping between defensive structures that have alternated over the centuries.
Its present structure was choosen by Giovanni Della Rovere, who summoned the highly-praised architects of Federico da Montefeltro, Luciano Laurana e Baccio Pontelli.
